Student Pass Application Procedure

All foreign students who wish to study on a full-time basis in Singapore at an institution that is registered with the Ministry of Education must apply for a student pass from the Immigration & Checkpoint Authority (ICA) of Singapore. Student Pass holders are strictly prohibited from engaging in any form of employment, or in any business, profession or occupation in Singapore during the validity of their Student Pass unless they have the consent in writing of the Comptroller of ICA.

Please note that the ICA will only grant student passes for foreign students pursuing full-time courses in Singapore. The average processing time for student pass application is between 2 to 3 weeks.

DOCUMENTATION CHECKLIST FOR APPLICATION APPLYING FOR STUDENT'S PASSES FOR PRIVATE SCHOOLS

• St James Application Form
• 4 recent passport-sized photographs of applicant
• Photocopy of applicant’s travel document pages showing his/her full particulars and travel document’s date of expiry
• Applicant’s official Birth Certificate (photocopy)
• Applicant’s highest educational certificates and transcripts (certified or notarized copy)
• Documentary proof of financial ability in the form of bank statements/fixed deposit accounts/saving accounts (photocopy) – only applicable for applicants from visa-required countries

Important Note:
Please ensure that the application forms/all the necessary documents have been completed/furnished. Official translation of the documents is required if they are not in the English language. Incomplete applications will be returned to you. Successful applicants must produce all the original copies of their supporting documents for verification when collecting the Student's Pass.
